Role Description

The Freelance Videographer role at Equity House is a contract position based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with a hybrid work arrangement that combines on-site production and some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Planning, shooting, and editing video content that supports Equity House’s storytelling, marketing, and educational initiatives.
  • Handling camera operation, lighting setup, and audio-visual quality control during shoots.
  • Performing post-production tasks such as basic editing, file management, and delivery of final assets.
  • Collaborating with creative, marketing, and program teams to translate concepts into compelling visual narratives and ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and project objectives.
  • Occasional travel within the region for shoots.
  • Ability to work independently and to agreed timelines.

Qualifications

  • Strong video production skills, including planning shoots, shooting video, and managing on-set workflows.
  • Proficiency in camera operation and familiarity with different camera systems and lenses.
  • Practical knowledge of lighting techniques for indoor and outdoor environments to achieve consistent visual quality.
  • Experience with basic video editing, post-production processes, and file organization using common editing software.
  • Ability to interpret creative briefs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce mission-aligned content.
  • Reliable access to professional-grade equipment (camera, lighting, audio) and ability to transport and maintain it.
  • Strong time management skills, with capacity to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a freelance setting.
  • Prior experience creating content for social impact, education, or youth-focused initiatives is beneficial.
  • Portfolio or showreel demonstrating relevant work in videography and visual storytelling.
