About the Role & Responsibilities

Uber AI Solutions engages independent language and data specialists to provide high-quality linguistic data and evaluation services for AI system development. This is a B2B service opportunity for freelancers / independent contractors.
We are looking for native or highly fluent speakers of specific UK regional dialects who can support the development of AI technologies through voice and speech-related tasks. Assignments may vary depending on project requirements, and contractors may be invited to participate in one or more projects based on their dialect and availability.
Project Tasks / Key Responsibilities
- Recording short voice samples reading provided prompts as an initial screening step.
- Participating in real, unscripted phone conversations with an AI agent in your natural regional accent.
- Providing basic demographic categorization data (e.g., age, gender) to ensure dataset accuracy.
- Following pre-call project specifications (e.g., topic area, tone, pauses, or natural interruptions).
- Verifying task completion via secure confirmation codes.

Requirements / What we are looking for
- Native or highly fluent proficiency in one of the following UK regional dialects: Scottish, Midlands, Welsh, Irish (Northern Ireland), Liverpudlian (Scouse), Geordie, Cockney, or London.
- Comfortable being recorded via phone or web-based tools and holding natural, unscripted conversations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to strictly follow technical project specifications (e.g., dialling instructions, accessing links, entering codes).
- Access to a reliable phone or a computer with a high-quality microphone.
- Note: No specific degree or professional background is required for this project; it is open to anyone who naturally speaks with one of the target dialects.
