Freelance Web Designer
Join a dynamic creative team as a freelance web designer focused on delivering high-fidelity UI and web product experiences for technology-driven clients. This remote contract role requires a detail-oriented designer who excels at transforming approved concepts into polished, production-ready assets. You will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable design systems, creating interactive prototypes, and ensuring seamless developer handoff. The position offers flexible hours (16–24 per week) with required EST–PST overlap, and the opportunity to work on projects for VC firms, startups, and technology companies.
Deliverables
- Design high-fidelity web and product interfaces for desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms
- Develop and maintain comprehensive design systems and component libraries
- Produce detailed interactive prototypes, accounting for various UI states and edge cases
- Prepare organized, developer-ready Figma files with clear specifications
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs
- Maintain consistency in layouts, spacing, typography, interactions, and responsive behavior

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of web or product design experience with a strong portfolio of shipped digital products
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, Components, Variants, Dev Mode, and Prototyping
- Deep understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and scalable design systems
- UX-focused mindset with the ability to think through interactions, states, and edge cases
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS and how structure relates to design prototypes
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective in direct collaboration with developers
- Experience in agency, VC, or tech startup environments is advantageous
- Bonus: Ability to build basic HTML/CSS websites, motion/animation design skills, Framer or Webflow experience, and prior work with VC or technology companies
