Freelance Website Designer / Developer

Day rate work

Birmingham – time on site will be necessary

Freelance booking

We’re looking for a talented freelance Website Designer / Developer to support an innovative healthcare business doing incredibly important work within cancer research and treatment.

They’re creating a brand-new website and need someone who can combine hands-on website build skills with a great creative eye.

This isn't a complex bespoke development project. The website will be built using an off-the-shelf, intuitive platform/template, but they need someone who can take ownership of the build and bring plenty of ideas to the table.

The website copy will be written for you, but you'll be responsible for bringing that content to life – thinking about design, layout, imagery and user journey, as well as uploading and formatting everything within the site.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You don't need to be a hardcore developer building everything from scratch. What matters is that you're technically confident using website platforms and templates and have a strong creative eye.

You’ll ideally have a portfolio of websites you've personally designed and built and be comfortable working fairly independently to get the project moving.

This is a freelance booking paying £300/day and, while there is flexibility to work remotely, you'll need to spend at least half a day per week onsite with the client.

If you're available for freelance work and fancy putting your skills towards a project with a business doing some genuinely meaningful work, we'd love to hear from you.

Send over your CV/portfolio and availability for immediate consideration.
