About the job
The Purser Desk is looking for an experienced former Superyacht Purser for a unique shoreside opportunity based in Tokyo, Japan.
This role will support one of our clients at a property in Akasaka, Tokyo, bringing the organisation, administration, financial oversight and coordination skills of an experienced Purser into a shoreside environment.
The position will initially be structured on an hourly or weekly freelance basis, with the potential to develop into a full-time position as the role grows.
We’re looking for someone who can confidently take ownership of a varied workload, with strong experience across administration, finance, coordination and account management. You’ll need to be highly organised, comfortable managing multiple parties and requests, and able to see things through from start to finish.
This is a hands-on role where priorities may change and requests will vary, so you’ll need to be resourceful, proactive and comfortable finding solutions independently.
What we're looking for:
- Japanese: Candidates already based in Tokyo will be given priority; however, applications from suitable candidates who are able and willing to relocate to Tokyo will also be considered
- Previous experience working as a Superyacht Purser
- Fluent Japanese and English
- Strong administrative experience and exceptional attention to detail
- Confident handling billing, invoices, accounts and financial administration
- Strong coordination and account management experience
- Experienced in calendar and diary management, scheduling and appointment coordination
- Confident arranging travel, accommodation, transfers and associated logistics
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Confident liaising with suppliers, contractors and other external parties
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfortable communicating professionally with senior stakeholders
- Resourceful and confident taking ownership of requests from start to finish
- Professional, discreet and dependable
- Strong systems and software skills

This could particularly suit an experienced Purser who has moved, or is looking to move, shoreside and would like to continue using their operational, administrative and financial experience in a private client environment.
