Freezer Warehouse Operative - Purfleet
As a Freezer Warehouse Operative with Ocado Logistics, you’ll join a specialist team working in a fast-paced freezer environment at our Purfleet site, where temperatures can be as low as -25°C.
Your safety and comfort come first, so we’ll provide full thermal protective clothing to help keep you warm throughout your shift.

What We’re Looking For
- No warehouse experience is needed. Just bring a positive attitude and we’ll support you every step of the way.
- You must be 18 or over.
- You must be able to handle meat and alcohol.
- You must be comfortable working in temperatures as low as -25°C. Full thermal protective clothing will be provided.
- You must be able to travel to and from the Purfleet site reliably for your scheduled shifts.
- For your safety and the safety of others, you must be able to understand and follow Health & Safety briefings and operational instructions.
Available Roles
You’ll work four shifts in every seven-day period. Shifts are spread across the full week, including weekends.

- Day Shift: 06:00 to 16:00 - 4 days per week as per roster
- Night Shift: 18:00 to 06:00 - 4 nights per week as per roster
You’ll pick and pack frozen products into shopping totes with care and accuracy, helping to ensure customer orders are prepared correctly and on time.
Pay & Premiums
- Basic rate: £12.93 per hour
- Freezer premium: an additional £1.00 per hour
- Night-shift premium between midnight and 06:00: an additional £2.67 per hour
- Overtime paid at 1.25x the basic rate
You’ll receive your work schedule up to 13 weeks in advance, helping you plan life outside of work.
You can also increase your earnings through our performance-based incentive scheme, where higher performers can receive additional hourly premiums.
