Freight Account Manager
Castle Donnington – Hybrid working
£40k - £50k per annum + bonus + car/car allowance
ENB are supporting our client to recruit a hands on, relationship focussed and commercially driven Freight Account Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis to take ownership for establishing new business opportunities across their air, sea and road freight services.
We really need someone who understands that successful freight management is about more than simply moving goods from A to B. You will need to build strong customer relationships, identify new opportunities, coordinate with internal operations teams and deliver reliable, cost effective freight solutions that keep their customers businesses moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop freight customers, acting as their primary commercial contact.
- Build strong, long term relationships with customers and understand their supply chain requirements.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and grow existing accounts across road, air and sea freight services.
- Generate new business through proactive sales activity, referrals, networking and account development.
- Prepare and negotiate competitive freight quotations and solutions.
- Work closely with operations, carriers and overseas partners to ensure shipments are handled efficiently and customers receive a high level of service.
- Monitor customer satisfaction, resolve issues quickly and take ownership of problems through to resolution.
- Keep customers informed throughout the shipping process and provide proactive updates when circumstances change.
- Review customer shipping patterns and identify opportunities for improved pricing, service levels or alternative transport solutions.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines, quotations and account activity.
- Keep up to date with freight market conditions, carrier capacity, pricing and international logistics developments.
- Support the wider commercial team in achieving revenue, margin and customer retention targets.

- Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transport or supply chain.
- Experience working with road, air and/or sea freight.
- A proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Confidence preparing quotations and discussing pricing and freight solutions with customers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to customer challenges.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple customers and priorities.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- A genuine desire to win new business and grow existing accounts.
Experience across all three modes of transport is advantageous, but not essential.
