The team is committed to responsive service, accurate handling of goods, and long-term client partnerships.

Role Description

The Freight Forwarder and Account Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in the Tamworth. This role manages end-to-end freight forwarding activities, including arranging transport, coordinating merchant container haulage, scheduling collections and deliveries, and liaising with warehousing teams to ensure accurate pick and pack operations. The role involves overseeing full and part loads, pallet network movements, and general haulage, while monitoring shipment progress and resolving operational issues. The individual will serve as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, handling quotations, managing bookings, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring service levels and agreed timelines are met. Daily tasks include updating internal systems, preparing documentation, collaborating with drivers and operations staff, and proactively communicating with customers about their shipments and logistics requirements.

  • Experience in freight forwarding, road transport, and logistics coordination, with a solid understanding of container haulage and pallet networks.
  • Strong account management and customer service skills, including relationship building, handling quotations, and managing ongoing client communication.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple shipments, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with logistics or transport management systems and standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, documentation tools).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail in documentation and order processing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on-site with operations, drivers, and warehouse teams, while taking ownership of customer issues and solutions.
  • Prior experience in UK transport, distribution, or haulage operations is highly beneficial; knowledge of relevant regulations and industry practices is an advantage.
  • A relevant qualification or background in logistics, supply chain, or business administration is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
