About The Role
The Freight Forwarder position, based in Warrington, offers a salary between £30,000 and £35,000 per annum. This permanent, full-time role operates Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. Working for a nationwide market leader with international offices, you will coordinate both domestic and international shipments. Responsibilities include managing freight movements across air, sea, and road networks, liaising with customers and suppliers, and preparing all necessary shipping and customs documentation. Ensuring full compliance with current import and export regulations is essential. Our client, a nationwide market leader within their sector, with offices across several countries, is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual looking for their next challenge with a well-established and reputable company.
Duties of a Freight Forwarder
- Coordinating international and domestic shipments
- Managing freight movements by air, sea, and road
- Liaising with customers and suppliers to ensure smooth processes are being followed
- Preparing and processing all relevant shipping and customs documentation
- Ensuring shipments comply with current import, export, and customs regulations
- Obtaining freight quotations and providing customers with competitive pricing
- Resolving any issues or delays that may arise
- Arranging collections, deliveries, and onward transportation
- Managing customs clearance procedures and working closely with relevant departments
- Raising invoices and ensuring all relevant charges are accurately recorded
- Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers

Experience Of The Successful Freight Forwarder
- Previous experience within freight forwarding is essential
- Experience in managing EU cross-trade shipments
- Experience working with customers across the UK and EU
- Knowledge and experience of handling ADR goods
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and use initiative
