French & English speaking | £16–£18/hour for events, depending on experience | Mainly weekends | Part-time freelance | Self-employed | Entry-level welcome

About Us

We are an established and licensed animal club specialising in pet cuddling experiences, bringing people and animals together in a safe, carefully managed and enjoyable environment.

Animal welfare is at the heart of everything we do. The pets taking part in our events join us through trusted pet owners, and our sessions are organised around their wellbeing, comfort and safety, with carefully scheduled rest periods throughout the day.

Alongside caring for the animals, we aim to provide a warm, welcoming and memorable experience for every guest.

We are looking for a caring, reliable and highly organised French-speaking Freelance Event Coordinator & Pet Sitter to help us run our weekend events.

As the company manager is French-speaking, we are specifically looking for a French-speaking team member for this position. Our events take place in English, so you must also be comfortable welcoming and communicating with English-speaking customers.

This is a self-employed freelance position combining event coordination, animal care and customer service, together with a small amount of flexible work-from-home outreach.

Previous professional experience is not essential. We welcome entry-level candidates with the right attitude, reliability and genuine love of animals. Training will be provided.

A Great Role to Combine With a Part-Time Weekday Job

This position is particularly well suited to someone who already works part-time during the week — for example, two or three days a week — and is looking for complementary weekend work.

Our events take place mainly on Saturdays and Sundays, so regular weekend availability is important.

Alongside event work, the role includes approximately 5–6 hours per month of flexible outreach/prospecting work, which can be completed from home and organised around your existing schedule.

Your Role

On event days, you will help manage the experience from set-up through to close-down, making sure that both our animals and guests are well looked after.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up the venue and event materials before the first session.
  • Welcoming pet owners and helping the animals enter and settle comfortably into the venue.
  • Working closely with pet owners to care for and supervise the animals throughout the event.
  • Welcoming guests and providing friendly, attentive customer service.
  • Carefully supervising interactions between guests and animals.
  • Monitoring the animals' wellbeing, comfort and behaviour throughout the day.
  • Making sure the animals receive their scheduled breaks and appropriate rest.
  • Helping keep the pets comfortable and clean when needed, for example by gently wiping them with pet-safe wipes.
  • Briefing and coordinating the event cleaner throughout the day.
  • In the rare event that the cleaner is unexpectedly unavailable, helping with basic cleaning duties to ensure the venue remains clean and hygienic. A cleaner is normally present at our events.
  • Packing away event materials and returning everything to the designated storage area at the end of the event.
  • Occasionally assisting with the transport of event materials between locations using pre-arranged transport. Any required transport time is paid.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Flexible Work-From-Home Outreach

In addition to event days, the role includes approximately 5–6 hours per month of outreach/prospecting work, which can be completed from home.

Outreach is paid at £15 per hour.

For each successful prospect generated through your outreach, you will receive an additional one hour of pay (£15) as a success bonus.

About You

Nice to Have – Not Essential

The following are advantages, but none are required to apply:

  • Previous professional or voluntary experience working with dogs or other animals.
  • Experience handling dogs confidently and safely.
  • Experience with cats or other companion animals.
  • Animal First Aid training or certification.
  • Previous events, hospitality or customer service experience.

Pay & Working Pattern

Event rate: £16–£18 per hour, depending on relevant experience.

Entry-level candidates will typically start towards the lower end of the range, while candidates with relevant animal care, events or customer-facing experience may be offered a higher starting rate.

There is also scope for pay progression as you gain experience within the company, developing your knowledge of our animals, events, procedures and standards and becoming increasingly confident managing events independently.

A typical full event day is approximately 9:00am–5:00pm, representing £128–£144 per event day at the starting rates.

Our event schedule includes several planned rest periods for the animals throughout the day. These periods are fully paid and provide quieter time between customer sessions, while you remain responsible for the animals and event.

Work-from-home outreach: £15 per hour, for approximately 5–6 hours per month, plus an additional £15 success bonus for each successful prospect.

Any additional time specifically required for transporting event materials between locations is also paid.

Interested?

Above all, we are looking for someone we can trust with our animals, our guests and the smooth running of our events.

This could be particularly suitable if you already have a part-time weekday role or other freelance work and are looking for complementary weekend work involving animals, people and events.

Whether you already have relevant experience or are looking for an opportunity to gain experience in the animal care and events sectors, we'd love to hear from you if you are reliable, caring and enthusiastic.

Please send us a short introduction about yourself, your weekend availability, your level of French and English, and any relevant experience you may have with animals, events, customer service or outreach.
