About Scrumconnect Consulting
Scrumconnect Consulting is a multi-award-winning UK public sector digital consultancy, positively influencing the lives of over forty million UK citizens. We bring deep expertise in agile delivery, digital transformation, and platform engineering across central government. With a team of over one hundred and twenty-five professionals — more than forty percent of whom are women — we are committed to building inclusive, diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve.
The Role
We are looking for a Front-End Developer who specialises in design systems to help build, maintain and drive adoption of a government design system. You will create accessible, reusable components that teams across the programme can rely on, and you will support their rollout through documentation, communication and hands-on adoption help.
This is a front-end specialist role. We want someone who has built or maintained component libraries and cares about accessibility, performance and developer experience.
What You will Be Doing
- Build and maintain a government-standard component library and design system.
- Audit and remediate components to WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Develop front-end components in the design systems existing stack, packaged and versioned for reuse.
- Work with designers using Figma (including Dev Mode and Figma Make) to turn designs into production components.
- Support change, communications and adoption activity for design system rollout across delivery teams.
- Write and maintain automated tests, with component testing through Storybook and Chromatic.
- Maintain automated build, test and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps and YAML.
- Maintain documentation sites and release notes, including migration guides for breaking changes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
