Front-End Developer – Financial Services Programme

Location: London – Hybrid
Contract: Initial 3–6 months
Rate: Market Rate (Inside IR35)
Clearance: UK SC Clearance Required

We are currently supporting a major global technology consultancy on an exciting programme of work for a high-profile UK financial institution at the heart of the country's financial system.

We are looking for an experienced Front-End Developer to join the programme, working on critical digital platforms that enable users and external organisations to discover, access and interact with financial data.

You will be responsible for building high-quality, responsive and accessible user interfaces, working closely with UX designers, backend developers and wider Agile delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop responsive, accessible and user-friendly web interfaces.
  • Build and enhance front-end applications using React or Angular.
  • Work with TypeScript / JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Integrate front-end applications with backend services through REST APIs.
  • Implement effective application state management using technologies such as Redux or NgRx.
  • Collaborate closely with UX designers to translate designs and requirements into high-quality interfaces.
  • Develop reusable components using modern UI component libraries.
  • Write and maintain unit tests using tools such as Jest or Jasmine.
  • Work within Agile development teams and contribute to sprint planning, refinement and delivery.
  • Ensure applications meet WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Use Git for version control and collaborative development.
  • Support modern cloud-based web application development using Azure.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development standards, practices and user experience.

Technical Skills

Essential

  • Strong commercial Front-End Development experience.
  • React or Angular.
  • TypeScript / JavaScript (ES6+).
  • HTML5 and CSS3, including responsive design.
  • REST API integration.
  • State management experience, ideally Redux or NgRx.
  • Unit testing with Jest, Jasmine or equivalent.
  • Git.
  • Strong understanding of WCAG and accessible web development.
  • Experience with modern UI/component libraries.
  • Experience working within Agile development teams.
  • Experience with Azure Static Web Apps or similar Azure-based web hosting services.

Contract & Working Arrangement

  • Initial 3–6 month contract
  • Hybrid working in London
  • Market-rate day rate, dependent on experience.
