About The Role
We are seeking a talented Frontend Software Engineer to join YT Technologies' dynamic team in Bristol. In this role, you will be responsible for owning and enhancing the company's frontend ecosystem, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, user-centric applications. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including hardware engineers, data scientists, and UX designers, to translate complex requirements into seamless, intuitive interfaces. The ideal candidate is action-oriented, thrives on solving challenging problems, and is passionate about creating impactful software solutions. - Proven commercial experience with React, TypeScript, and JavaScript, with a portfolio of successful projects.
- Ability to build applications that efficiently consume REST APIs, with a solid understanding of frontend performance optimization and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Disciplined approach to engineering practices, including rigorous code quality, thorough documentation, and effective version control using Git, pull requests, and code reviews.
Nice-to-have skills include experience with Azure cloud services, data visualization libraries such as D3 or Highcharts, and a basic understanding of Python backend services.
Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory for highly experienced practitioners.
Responsibilities
- Implementation: Translate high-fidelity UX wireframes into polished, production-ready React applications that meet design specifications and performance standards.
- Systems Thinking: Design and develop reusable, modular components that seamlessly integrate with a centralized design system, ensuring consistency across the platform.
- Data Integration: Collaborate with backend teams to contribute to Python APIs, managing the complete data flow from hardware sensors to the user interface, ensuring accuracy and real-time responsiveness.
- AI-Enhanced Delivery: Utilize AI coding assistants such as Claude or Copilot to streamline development processes, maintaining high standards of quality while accelerating delivery timelines.

This role is a full-time office position based in Bristol, with the flexibility of a nine-day fortnight to promote work-life balance and productivity.
