Position overview:

Performs mechanical and engineering tasks to provide effective services to support the plant’s production goals, overall business plans and objectives as directed.

The Shift Pattern is 4 on - 4 off, 39 hours per week. Every cycle includes 7 rotations 4 on – 4 off followed by 18 days off (fixed vacation days included). This shift pattern covers also 1 training day, 2 maintenance days, and 1 crew day.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Complies and maintains established safe working practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives, for the safe performance of the work assignment, and to report unsafe conditions as and when they arise.
  • Supports and adheres to the guidelines of the food safety system.
  • Performs duties as required to ensure compliance with the plant’s quality standards.
  • Performs various manual or mechanical production tasks by operating, adjusting, and repairing production equipment to meet customer specifications.
  • Disassembles, overhauls, and rebuilds of production equipment.
  • Performs troubleshooting on production equipment as required.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment as required.
  • Inputs real-time data on a computer terminal.
  • Conducts inspection of in-process or finished product to meet customer specifications.
  • You will also be required to support in other positions within or below your pay grade, to support business needs on an ad hoc basis.

What are we looking for?

  • Apprenticeship or relevant qualification in Engineering or Mechanical discipline.
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics experience is essential.
  • Surface grinding experience is preferable.
  • Proven experience in an engineering or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret numerical data.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools; forklift operation experience is an advantage.
  • Good computer literacy, communication, and organizational skills.
