About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Frontend Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Manchester. This role involves developing and enhancing frontend applications that deliver exceptional user experiences for our financial services clients. As part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure frontend solutions using modern technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, designers, and product managers, to create innovative features that meet business requirements and regulatory standards. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects within a fast-paced, Agile environment, utilizing best practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and pair programming.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
  • Strong understanding of component-based architecture and frontend design principles.
  • Leadership experience, capable of guiding and mentoring team members.
  • Hands-on experience working within Agile methodologies, including TDD and pair programming.
  • Preferred: Networking knowledge such as subnets, firewalls, load balancing, and VPN configurations.
  • Preferred: Experience with security protocols and identity management systems.
  • Preferred: Monitoring and logging expertise for maintaining application health and performance.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a focus on delivering reliable solutions.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments, such as financial services, is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Developing high-quality frontend applications tailored to our clients' needs.
  • Collaborating with product teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and functional features.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
  • Actively participating in code reviews, contributing to the development of reusable components.
  • Ensuring that all deliverables meet security and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Mentoring junior team members, sharing expertise to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Implementing DevOps practices to streamline deployment processes.
  • Monitoring application performance and troubleshooting issues proactively.
