About The Role
Ascend Consulting is seeking a skilled Front End React Developer to join their dynamic team in North West London. This office-based position offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate developer to contribute to the development of sophisticated financial software applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing user interface components that are both visually appealing and highly functional. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, UX/UI designers, and product managers, to create seamless and engaging user experiences. The role emphasizes adherence to React.js best practices, including Redux and RTK workflows, to ensure the robustness and maintainability of the codebase. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with proven experience in front-end development, specifically with React.js. A solid understanding of JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model, is essential. Experience working with TypeScript is highly desirable, along with familiarity with modern front-end build tools such as Babel, Webpack, and NPM. Candidates should have a good grasp of Redux, RTK, and RTKQuery, as well as experience integrating RESTful APIs. Knowledge of modern authentication mechanisms like JSON Web Token is important for secure application development. Additionally, familiarity with version control systems such as Git, and experience with front-end optimization techniques, will be advantageous. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience is also considered.
Responsibilities
- Develop new user-facing features using React.js, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
- Create reusable components and front-end libraries to streamline development and facilitate future scalability.
- Translate design wireframes and prototypes into high-quality, responsive code that functions across various devices and browsers.
- Optimize components for maximum performance, including load times and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with backend developers to integrate APIs and ensure data consistency and security.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and maintain high coding standards.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices in front-end development.
- Assist in troubleshooting and debugging issues to maintain a reliable and robust application.
