About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Frontend Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Manchester on a six-month contract basis, with the potential for extension. This role demands a proactive individual with extensive experience in frontend development, particularly with JavaScript frameworks and modern DevOps practices. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining innovative frontend products tailored for our financial services clients. The position requires onsite presence four days a week, offering an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative environment that values technical excellence and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
- Strong understanding of component-based architecture and frontend frameworks.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
- Hands-on experience working within Agile environments, utilizing TDD and pair programming methodologies.
- Preferred: Networking knowledge, including subnets, firewalls, load balancing, and VPN configurations.
- Preferred: Security and identity management expertise.
- Preferred: Monitoring and logging experience to ensure system reliability.
- Preferred: Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Preferred: Experience in financial services or other highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and enhance frontend applications that meet the highest standards of quality and performance. You will work within a dedicated team to create innovative solutions that improve user experience and operational efficiency for our clients. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, designers, and product managers, to deliver seamless and scalable frontend products.
As a senior team member, you will also be expected to share your expertise by mentoring junior developers and fostering knowledge sharing within the team. You will be responsible for implementing best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment, ensuring that all deliverables adhere to security and compliance standards relevant to the financial sector. Additionally, you will actively participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and stay updated with emerging frontend technologies and trends.
