Role Description
The Front House Staff role is a full-time, on-site position based at Avellino Italian Restaurant in Ross-On-Wye.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Welcoming guests
- Managing reservations and seating
- Taking food and beverage orders
- Ensuring prompt, accurate service
- Answering guest questions
- Handling payments
- Coordinating with kitchen and bar staff
- Maintaining cleanliness in dining areas
Front House Staff also support the smooth flow of service during busy periods, assist with setting up and breaking down service stations, and help address any guest concerns professionally.

Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate well with team members.
- Clear and professional communication skills for taking orders, providing information, and handling guest requests.
- Customer service experience or skills, with the ability to remain calm, courteous, and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence in making presentations of menus and specials, and explaining dishes and beverages to guests.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move quickly and safely in a busy restaurant setting, and handle basic cash and card transactions.
- Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness, table settings, and accurate order delivery.
- Reliable time management, flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and commitment to consistent attendance.
- Prior front-of-house or hospitality experience is beneficial but not required; training will be provided.
