Front of House Host – Part Time

Geneva House, Birmingham | Monday–Wednesday, 8am–5pm | £28,000–£32,000 FTE DOE

Looking for a part-time role that gives you your Thursdays and Fridays back?

We’re looking for a Front of House Host with commercial office experience to join our company in a stand alone position at Geneva House in Birmingham, providing a professional and welcoming service to tenants, visitors and contractors while helping to ensure the building is safe, secure and well presented.

Praxis is a growing, privately owned UK real estate investor and manager with a fully integrated platform and more than 400 employees across the UK. We manage a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate and take pride in the quality of the buildings and service we provide to our tenants.

The working pattern:

This is a Monday–Wednesday role, 8am–5pm, and the working pattern is fixed.

One of the key tenants at Geneva House occupies around one-third of the building and operates during these hours. This role is specifically designed to provide Front of House cover while they are on site, so unfortunately we cannot accommodate alternative days, hours or shift patterns.

If you're looking for a part-time role that gives you four days away from work each week, this could be a great fit.

About the role:

You'll be the welcoming face of Geneva House, providing a professional, friendly and proactive Front of House service while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the building. You'll be responsible for:

  • Delivering a professional, welcoming front-of-house service, ensuring reception is always clean, organised and presentable.
  • Answering calls and welcoming visitors to reception in a professional, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Providing prompt, helpful and proactive support to visitors, tenants, contractors and colleagues.
  • Liaising with management to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the building.
  • Arranging and carrying out daily checks in conjunction with management.
  • Carrying out daily inspections of internal and external entrances and car parks.
  • Supporting cleaning standards and reporting any issues to management immediately.
  • Ensuring landscaped areas are well maintained and reporting any issues to management immediately.
  • Ensuring all health and safety checks are carried out as requested by management.
  • Ensuring deliveries and contractors are properly recorded on site and effective access and egress control is maintained.
  • Preventing, detecting and investigating offences on site, signs of intrusion and security concerns.
  • Ensuring doors and gates are secure and unauthorised personnel do not enter restricted areas.
  • Responding to emergency situations and liaising with emergency services where required.
  • Testing fire alarm systems, including setting and disengaging the alarm panel, activating call points and responding promptly to alarm activations.
  • Accurately reporting incidents and recording daily activities and irregularities.
  • Logging and storing lost property in line with procedures.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality in respect of tenants and others.
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with all tenants.
  • Delivering newsletters and communications to tenants.
  • Updating and changing poster sites as required.
  • Ensuring tenants and visitors park in their assigned spaces.
  • Supporting management with viewing requests from agents.
  • Supporting events and hospitality operations from setup through to completion.
  • Undertaking other miscellaneous duties relating to general service as requested by management.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The kind of person we're looking for:

You'll be professional, well presented and take pride in delivering a high-quality Front of House service.

You'll be warm, approachable and confident, with the ability to create a positive first impression with tenants, visitors and contractors.

You'll also be proactive and practical, with the confidence to use your initiative and resolve issues where appropriate.

As this is a largely stand-alone role, you'll need to be comfortable working independently, managing your own time and prioritising daily responsibilities without constant supervision.

You'll have regular contact with the Building Manager at a nearby site, who will visit, and you will report into our National Building Standards Manager, based in London. Strong communication and reliability will therefore be important, as will the ability to know when to take ownership and when to escalate an issue.

Benefits:

  • £28,000–£32,000 FTE DOE, pro-rated for the three-day working week
  • 25 days' holiday per year plus bank holidays, pro-rated
  • Private Medical Insurance (medical history disregarded)
  • Annual Dental benefit inclusive of two appointments per year
  • Healthcare Cash Plan
  • 5% Company pension contribution
  • 3x Life Assurance
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Group income protection scheme

If you're looking for a consistent three-day-a-week role where you can make a real difference to the experience of tenants and visitors, we'd love to hear from you.
