Aux Pains de Papy

Aux Pains de Papy is an award-winning, family-run French bakery in Kings Cross known for traditional methods, premium Provence-sourced ingredients, and an open-baking experience where customers can see and smell the craft in action. We’re looking for a warm, reliable Front of House team member who loves great food and great service.

You’ll be the face of the bakery, helping customers quickly and warmly during busy periods while keeping the shop looking beautiful and running smoothly.

The Role

Customer Service & Sales

  • Welcome customers, explain products, and make recommendations
  • Take orders and payments accurately and efficiently
  • Handle queues calmly during peak times and keep service moving

Product & Shop Standards

  • Keep displays stocked, clean, and well-presented
  • Pack products carefully (including cakes and delicate pastries)
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety at all times

Teamwork & Operations

  • Communicate clearly with the baking team during service
  • Support opening/closing tasks as needed
  • Follow shop procedures around allergens, hygiene, and customer care

Must-have

  • Friendly, confident communication and a genuine customer-first attitude
  • Reliable and punctual (early starts are part of bakery life)
  • Comfortable working at speed during busy rushes
  • Strong attention to detail (orders, packaging, allergens, cleanliness)
  • Fluent English on shift

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in a bakery, café, deli, or fast-paced food retail environment
  • Interest in French baking/patisserie
  • Barista experience
  • French speaking

Hours (Part-time)

  • 3 days per week
  • Typical trading hours: Mon–Fri 7:00am–4:00pm, Sat 8:00am–12:00pm
  • Exact rota to be agreed
