BaxterStorey is a large catering operation throughout the UK and Ireland.
Position Overview
We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Front of House Assistant to join our team in Tilbury, United Kingdom. In this role, you'll be the welcoming face of our organization, delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for every guest. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth operations while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and care. Job Details
Position 1
- Hours: 8.30am - 4pm
- Days: 5 days out of 7
Position 2
- Hours: 8.30am - 4pm
- Days: 2 days - weekends
Responsibilities
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner while ensuring all requests are promptly addressed
- Provide outstanding customer service by remaining attentive to guests' needs throughout their visit and responding to questions and concerns with empathy and positivity
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and back-of-house teams to support seamless operations and contribute to a safe, inclusive working environment
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards in dining areas and service stations in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Demonstrate adaptability and a solution-oriented approach when addressing challenges or unexpected situations
- Communicate clearly with team members and management to ensure consistent service delivery and operational excellence
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining organized and detail-oriented, even during peak service periods
- Comply with all food service guidelines, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies

Qualifications
- Genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating positive guest experiences
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse guests and colleagues
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to an inclusive, supportive workplace culture
- Demonstrated adaptability and resilience with a solution-oriented mindset when facing challenges
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, or willingness to obtain this knowledge through training
- Physical stamina and ability to work on your feet for extended periods while maintaining professionalism and energy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to professional behavior and appearance
- Previous experience in a food service, hospitality, or customer-facing role is preferred but not required
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Positive attitude, emotional intelligence, and the ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
