Community Host
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday-Saturday shift pattern
The Opportunity
Are you a natural people person who takes pride in creating exceptional experiences?
We're looking for a Community Host to become the welcoming face of a vibrant residential community in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in hospitality, residential property, customer service, front of house or a similar people-focused environment who enjoys being at the heart of a busy community.
As Community Host, you'll be one of the most visible and important members of the on-site team. You'll be the person residents know they can turn to, the friendly face welcoming new residents into their homes, and the first point of contact for visitors and prospective residents.
It's a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll combine outstanding customer service with community engagement, front-of-house operations, property support and leasing activity.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and takes ownership. Someone who doesn't simply pass an issue on, but sees it through to a successful resolution.
What You'll Be Doing
Creating an Exceptional Resident Experience
- Be the first point of contact for residents, visitors, contractors and guests, providing a warm, professional and welcoming experience.
- Manage the front desk, telephone and site inbox, responding to enquiries quickly and effectively.
- Take ownership of resident queries, concerns and complaints, keeping people updated and ensuring issues are resolved.
- Manage visitor and contractor access, keys and fobs in line with site procedures.
- Oversee deliveries and parcel management.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
