I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is professional, approachable, and proactive, with a genuine focus on delivering excellent customer service. As this is a largely stand-alone role, you'll need to be comfortable working independently, managing your own time, and prioritizing daily responsibilities without constant supervision.
You will report into our National Building Standards Manager, based in London. Strong communication and reliability will therefore be important, as will the ability to know when to take ownership and when to escalate an issue.
You'll ideally have:
- Confidence using IT systems, reception tools, and basic office technology.
- Previous experience working with business space tenants within an office or corporate workspace environment is essential.
- Clear, professional, and confident communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills, with a proactive, helpful, and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good awareness of health, safety, and security responsibilities within a managed building environment.
- The ability to remain calm, professional, and responsive.
