Description
The purpose of the Front of House Manager is to oversee the daily site functionality of the commercial Twinings property in Andover. The post-holder will be responsible in ensuring that the office environment functions correctly and safely in order to give all local and international visitors and employees a ‘WOW’ experience from the moment they enter our gates.
Working closely with the Facilities Manager, this role will participate as a key member of the Facilities Team. This role requires the incumbent to operate independently, flexibly and proactively with the ability to manage high volume workload, meeting deadlines as required and execute processes efficiently and effectively. We would require the post-holder to build positive relationships with their direct reports, get to know their roles and look to improve processes, information and ways of working in order to execute excellence to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Line management of the gatehouse and reception team – previous line manager experience is key.
- Supplier management of our cleaning contracts; Undertake cleaning audits, liaise with the cleaning team and ensure great standards of cleaning on site and in line with our H&S requirements.
- Support the on-site catering team to deliver excellent service. This would include but is not limited looking after the cafeteria area, collaborate on new ideas with the team, addressing and actioning any issues, providing signage with new information, promotions and events and ensuring all auditing and H&S requirements are monitored and executed.
- Check office and communal areas on site to make sure all functioning. This includes our reception, tea points, toilets and restaurant.
- Report any defects or items needing attention to the relevant parties, following correct process.
- Support with the environmental functionality of the new meeting space (currently under refurbishment).
- Raise, approve and receipt PO’s on both types of SAP Direct and Indirect.
- Able to prepare cost charging information for tea bars and departments, in support of the post room and print room.
- Look for new ways – bring new services – surprise and delight the onsite population.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in a facilities/front of house role.
- Line management experience in supporting direct reports and setting them up for success in their roles.
- Experience in working with multiple stakeholders and roles that require bigger picture thinking.
- Experience of project work, seeing things through to completion.
- Working with and understanding catering teams and their environment.
- Understanding meeting room facilities including technology and meeting amenities to deliver a high functioning environment.
- Managing supplier contracts, including but not limited to cleaning, printers/scanners and security.
- An effective communicator, with strong interpersonal skills; builds and maintains strong and effective working partnerships with managers and colleagues at all levels.
- Strong organisation skills and ability to prioritise.
- Enquiring mind; asking pertinent questions, thinking about the broader context.
- Attention to detail; quick and accurate, notices when things don’t look right and facilitates swift repairs.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks at once without becoming overwhelmed.
- Ability to work to and meet deadlines.
- Knows what makes good customer service and deliver this daily.
- Proactive, self-starting and self-reliant. Able to plan own workload and deliver on tasks set by line manager and colleagues.
