Front of House Team Member – Hybrid Bartender & Server

Salary: £18.50 per hour (£14 per hour plus an average £4.50 tronc, although tronc is not guaranteed)

Hours: 40–45 hours per week (4–5 days per week)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Konjiki, Battersea Power Station

Are you passionate about hospitality, enjoy making great drinks and love creating memorable experiences for guests?

We’re looking for an experienced and versatile Front of House Team Member to join the opening team at our new Battersea restaurant, working across both bartending and table service.

Who We Are

We’re a family-run Japanese restaurant, with our first London restaurant based in Kensington, and we’re now excited to be opening our second branch at Battersea Power Station, where this role will be based.

This is a hybrid role. Some shifts may be primarily behind the bar, others on the restaurant floor, while some may combine serving and bar support. As this is a new opening, the balance between bartender and server shifts will vary according to business and staffing needs.

Our goal is to create an exceptional dining experience, and we believe that starts with a happy and passionate team. We genuinely care about our customers and each other, and we’re looking for someone who shares those values. We believe great restaurants are built by people who work hard, support one another and take pride in what they do.

What We're Looking For

Above all else, we're looking for someone who is kind, conscientious and reliable, and genuinely cares about helping both their colleagues and our guests.

We’re incredibly proud of the culture we’ve built within our existing team, where people proactively support one another. We’re looking for someone who will reinforce that culture — treating everyone with kindness and respect while working together to achieve the highest standards.

  • At least 1 year of previous hospitality experience, including experience in both waiting tables and bartending
  • Experience and competence in full table service, including accurately taking orders, serving food/drinks, clearing/resetting tables, and looking after guests throughout their meal
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide warm, attentive and professional service, proactively recognising and responding to guests’ needs
  • Ability to develop a thorough knowledge of food and drinks menus, including allergens, to accurately advise guests
  • Ability to quickly become proficient in digital table-management and POS systems
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with a good awareness of service flow and effective coordination between floor, bar and kitchen.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience making mixed drinks and cocktails (we'll teach you our own Japanese-inspired recipes and standards)
  • Good knowledge of bar setup/closing procedures, stock rotation, cleaning and bar maintenance
  • A friendly and conscientious nature — being consistently considerate of colleagues and guests, whilst showing a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility
  • A positive professional attitude, eagerness to learn and passion for hospitality
  • Ability to closely and consistently follow service procedures, protocols and drink recipes
  • Ability to positively respond and improve following feedback
  • Strong attention to detail, with high standards of service, drink presentation, cleanliness and hygiene
  • Willingness to work flexibly across bar, floor and bar-support roles according to the needs of the service
  • English proficiency and authorisation to work in the UK are essential
  • An interest in Japanese food, drinks or hospitality is a bonus

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
