Front Office IT Support Engineer – London

Location: London, Liverpool Street (5 days in 10 in the office)
Working Pattern: Hybrid, shift rota between 07:00–18:00, Monday–Friday
Weekend: Occasional weekend work required for upgrades and rollouts
Contract: 6 months
Rate: £372.06 Umbrella (£275 PAYE)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Front Office IT Support Engineer to provide 1st and 2nd line support within a fast-paced Sales & Trading environment. You will support Traders, Sales teams and Front Office stakeholders, ensuring a highly available and responsive IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line desk-side and remote IT support across Windows, Citrix Workspace, Microsoft Office and business applications.
  • Support laptops, desktops, mobile devices, telephony, headsets and video conferencing systems.
  • Own incidents and service requests through to resolution using ServiceNow, ensuring appropriate prioritisation, documentation and SLA management.
  • Troubleshoot and support desktop builds, configurations, applications, printing, patching, testing and deployments.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot SCCM, ControlUp and Windows administration tools.
  • Support workstation and server hardware and assist with infrastructure including servers, SAN/storage, telephony and network systems.
  • Work closely with internal IT teams and third-party vendors to resolve complex issues.
  • Participate in OS rollouts, Citrix deployments, infrastructure projects, desk moves and equipment relocations.
  • Support business continuity sites and contribute to maintaining a high-availability trading environment.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience providing Front Office / Trading Floor IT Support, ideally within financial services.
  • Strong Windows desktop, hardware and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Citrix, ServiceNow, SCCM and/or ControlUp.
  • Good understanding of Front Office workflows and the ability to prioritise based on business impact.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Calm, professional and confident when working under pressure.
  • Strong ownership, accountability and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern and occasional weekends.

Working Pattern

The role operates on a rotating shift pattern, including early, middle and late shifts. The level of office/WFH working will vary depending on the shift, with some weeks predominantly office-based and greater flexibility during other shifts. Occasional weekend support will be required for planned upgrades, rollouts and other operational activities.
