Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The PMO & Projects team for RBC BlueBay is based in London and consists of a range of professionals covering PMO, project management, and business analysis.

We work closely with all areas of the business including (but not limited to) Investment teams, Risk, Legal, Client and Regulatory Reporting, IT, and Sales. Our remit includes projects, enhancements, integrations, and ad-hoc requests, which can range from process-oriented items through to very technical changes.

This role is for a Project Manager to join the team, working on a daily basis with the Front Office (FO) Technology delivery team, reporting to the Head of Business Analysis.

This is a permanent, full-time role and requires 4 days in our 100 Bishopsgate, London office.

What will you do?

  • Accountable for leading and owning Front Office IT deliverables for multiple medium-to-high complex initiatives simultaneously
  • Partner with the development team to deliver features for Front Office in-house built applications, including research platform, portfolio construction tool, performance attribution system, and other related investment technology solutions
  • Work closely with the Head of Front Office Development as your primary partnership
  • Serve as a liaison between development teams and key Front Office stakeholders to prioritise deliverables and allocate resources across multiple initiatives
  • Organise regular team stand-ups, retrospectives, and agile ceremonies
  • Orchestrate team activities including project update meetings, technical workshops, and stakeholder sessions; maintain meeting minutes, track action items, and ensure timely follow-up on commitments
  • Implement team operating cadences and project governance practices (status meetings, timeline tracking, RAID logs) to optimise delivery performance and maintain stakeholder transparency
  • Work with Business Analysts to ensure backlog processes/feature checklists are followed
  • Provides strategic insight to management on project approach, priorities, and business implications
  • Produce key project documents (project scope and planning, risk profiles, timelines, Steering Committees, project closures etc.). Adhere to all agile processes and RBC documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate and contribute to the FO technology and also the PMO & Projects team’s strategic priorities, methodology standards and knowledge sharing, helping to drive adoption of best practices
  • Identify and lead innovation in project management practices including leveraging AI
  • Build and influence relationships globally across a range of business teams from Front Office Portfolio Managers/Traders, Operations, Risk, Data, and Software development.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Critical thinking – strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Business Acumen – understanding of how technical decisions impact business outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, being able to liaise, negotiate and influence a variety of business units and across all levels of seniority.
  • Strategic thinking – capacity to align analysis work with broader business objectives and business value realisation.
  • Experience of multi-tasking, prioritising and allocating inflows of work vs resource capacity
  • Fixed Income instrument (bonds, swaps, ETD’s, FX and Loans), trade flow, and other asset management domain knowledge highly desirable
  • Must have worked closely with software delivery teams and confident in communicating with development teams.
  • Excellent Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Visual articulation techniques to reach a varied and often senior audience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including presentational abilities.
