Front Office SRE / Production Support Engineer

Our client, a world-leading hedge fund, is seeking a Front Office SRE / Production Support Engineer to join a newly formed team in their London office. This is a high-impact role supporting mission-critical, low-latency trading systems, working directly alongside traders and engineering teams. You will play a key role in maintaining system reliability and performance, while also developing tooling and driving automation to enhance production support capabilities in a fast-paced, front-office environment.

The ideal candidate will come from a top-tier financial institution with strong exposure to front-office trading environments and a deep understanding of highly distributed, latency-sensitive systems. A clear communicator with a strong commercial mindset, you will be comfortable interacting with traders and stakeholders. You will also bring expert-level knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems, strong command-line proficiency, and a solid grasp of networking concepts within applications, enabling you to troubleshoot and optimise complex trading infrastructure effectively.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
