Front Office Trading Support Analyst
Location: London
Contract Length: 6 Months
Rate: Competitive (via umbrella)
Working Pattern: 100% onsite for the first 3-6 months, reducing to approximately 50-60% onsite thereafter.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Front Office Trading Support Analyst to join a leading investment banking environment in London. This role sits within a high-performing front office support function that provides critical application and trading support across multiple business lines, including FX, Rates, Commodities, Syndicate and other front office trading desks. The team operates a "champion" model, where each analyst takes ownership of a specific business area or application suite while maintaining cross-coverage through designated backups.
This opportunity has arisen due to a combination of planned team departures and maternity cover requirements, creating an immediate need for individuals who can quickly integrate into a fast-paced trading environment and provide exceptional front office support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide front office application and trading support across a broad range of business lines including FX, Rates, Commodities and other trading functions.
- Act as the primary support contact ("champion") for designated trading desks, business units or application suites.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve production issues impacting front office users.
- Liaise with traders, sales teams, business users, developers, infrastructure teams and external support groups to drive issue resolution.
- Monitor critical trading applications and proactively identify potential issues before they impact the business.
- Support incident, problem and change management processes.
- Participate in application releases, deployments and post-release validation activities.
- Maintain support documentation, knowledge bases and operational procedures.
- Work collaboratively across multiple support functions to ensure seamless coverage across business areas.
- Develop a strong understanding of supported business processes and trading workflows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
