About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Environmental Consultant to join our dynamic team at SLR Consulting. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support on environmental management and compliance matters. You will work closely with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet regulatory requirements and promote sustainable practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in environmental sciences or engineering, coupled with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that make a tangible difference in environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher qualification is preferred. Relevant professional experience of at least 3-5 years in environmental consultancy or a related sector is essential. Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, permitting processes, and impact assessment methodologies is required. Proficiency in environmental software tools and data analysis is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, are crucial. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings are also important.

Responsibilities

As an Environmental Consultant at SLR Consulting, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting environmental assessments, including baseline studies, impact assessments, and risk analyses to support project development and decision-making processes.
  • Preparing and submitting environmental permit applications and ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
  • Engaging with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and project approvals.
  • Developing and implementing environmental management plans and monitoring programs to track project impacts and mitigation measures.
  • Providing technical advice on sustainable practices and environmental best practices to clients across various sectors.
  • Participating in site visits, audits, and inspections to ensure adherence to environmental standards and project specifications.
  • Staying updated on evolving environmental legislation and industry trends to ensure the firm’s consultancy services remain current and compliant.
  • Contributing to proposal development and business development activities to expand the firm’s client base and service offerings.
