Frontend Developer (Vue.js 3) – Public Sector Digital Services
Role: Frontend Developer
Location: Remote (Within the UK)
Contract Type: Contract / Inside IR35
Clearance / Eligibility: UK Citizen / Minimum 5 Years Continuous UK Residency
Working Model: 100% Remote
About the Role:
We are seeking a Frontend Developer with strong expertise in Vue.js (Version 3) to build and maintain modern, scalable web applications for key digital service platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for developing reusable UI components, optimizing frontend performance and accessibility, and integrating RESTful backend services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the end-to-end development lifecycle to deliver responsive, high-performing user interfaces that meet modern web standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Frontend Architecture: Build, maintain, and scale modern web applications using Vue.js 3.
- UI Component Development: Develop clean, modular, and reusable frontend component libraries.
- Responsive Design & Accessibility: Ensure applications are fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices while maintaining high standards for accessibility and usability.
- API Integration: Connect frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services using effective state management patterns.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Write automated unit tests using Jest and end-to-end tests using frameworks like Cypress or Playwright.
- CI/CD & Documentation: Actively maintain technical documentation and integrate code changes through GIT workflows and Azure DevOps pipelines.

Candidate Profile & Requirements:
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
- Eligibility: Must be a UK Citizen with at least 5 years of continuous UK residency.
- Framework Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience developing with Vue.js (Version 3).
- Core Web Stack: Mastery of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3 / SASS.
- API & State Management: Strong experience integrating RESTful APIs and implementing robust state management.
- Testing Frameworks: Proven background writing automated unit tests (Jest) and E2E tests (Cypress or Playwright).
- Tooling & Workflows: Solid understanding of Git, package managers, frontend build tools, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).

Desirable Skills (Bonus):
- Experience delivering projects within UK Public Sector, Government, or NHS environments.
- Hands-on familiarity with the GOV.UK Design System or NHS Design System.
- Cloud experience with the Azure Cloud Platform.
- Exposure to security tooling such as SonarCloud or Dependabot.
