About The Role

SLR Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental assessment, regulatory compliance, and project management. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects that contribute to sustainable development and environmental protection. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments, preparing technical reports, liaising with regulatory authorities, and providing expert advice to clients. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet both client needs and regulatory standards. This position requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a passion for environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in environmental consulting or a similar role is required. Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations, and permitting processes is essential. Proven experience in conducting environmental impact assessments, site investigations, and data analysis is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, along with proficiency in relevant software tools such as GIS, MS Office, and environmental modeling programs. Professional certifications such as EIA certification or membership in recognized environmental organizations will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

As an Environmental Consultant at SLR Consulting, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive environmental impact assessments for various projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, regional, and national regulations.
  • Preparing detailed technical reports, environmental management plans, and related documentation to support project approvals.
  • Engaging with clients to understand their needs and providing strategic advice on environmental best practices.
  • Coordinating with regulatory agencies to facilitate permitting processes and address any environmental concerns.
  • Monitoring project sites to ensure adherence to environmental standards.
  • Conducting site investigations and analyzing environmental data to inform decision-making.
  • Contributing to the development of new methodologies and staying updated on emerging environmental issues.
  • Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Mentoring junior staff.
  • Contributing to the growth and reputation of SLR Consulting through high-quality deliverables and innovative solutions.
