Role Overview
The WordPress Developer will be responsible for the full lifecycle of website development—from theme customization and plugin configuration to API integrations and performance optimization. The role requires close collaboration with designers, project managers, and backend teams to ensure the delivery of fast, secure, and responsive websites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using custom themes and plugins.
- Convert UI/UX designs (Figma, XD, PSD) into responsive, pixel-perfect WordPress templates.
- Implement advanced custom fields (ACF), Elementor, and Gutenberg components based on project requirements.
- Integrate WordPress sites with APIs, CRMs (Salesforce, Odoo), and third-party services.
- Ensure SEO best practices, accessibility standards, and performance optimization (PageSpeed, Core Web Vitals).
- Maintain secure, stable, and up-to-date environments through regular plugin/theme updates and backups.
- Collaborate with backend developers to integrate custom business logic, forms, and data exchange layers.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and document issues across staging and production environments.
- Participate in QA testing, UAT cycles, and post-launch support.
- Contribute to reusable WordPress frameworks and documentation for internal development standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field.
- 2–4 years of proven experience in WordPress development.
- Strong command of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and MySQL.
- Deep understanding of WordPress core, theme hierarchy, and custom post types.
- Experience building custom themes without relying solely on pre-built templates.
- Familiarity with page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg).
- Strong grasp of security, caching, and performance tuning techniques.
- Proficiency with Git, cPanel, and staging workflows.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of WooCommerce, multilingual setups (WPML/Polylang), and WordPress multisite.
- Experience integrating payment gateways and booking systems.
- Familiarity with REST API and Headless WordPress (React/Next.js) setups.
- Understanding of Cloud hosting (AWS, DigitalOcean) and CDN configuration.
- Experience with SEO, analytics, and marketing plugins (Yoast, RankMath, Tag Manager).
