About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Consultant to join our dynamic team at SLR Consulting. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive environmental assessments, managing project deliverables, and providing strategic advice to clients across multiple sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science or related fields, with proven expertise in conducting site assessments, impact evaluations, and regulatory compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to sustainable development initiatives. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining SLR’s reputation for excellence and innovation in environmental consulting.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, ecology, geology, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is preferred. Relevant professional certifications such as IEMA, IOSH, or similar are highly desirable. Candidates must have at least 3-5 years of experience in environmental assessment, impact management, or consultancy services. Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, permitting processes, and industry standards is essential. Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills are required to effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders. A proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are key attributes for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting environmental site assessments
  • Preparing technical reports
  • Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Coordinating with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to deliver high-quality results
  • Conducting environmental impact assessments, risk analyses, and mitigation planning
  • Involved in data collection, analysis, and interpretation, utilizing industry-standard software and tools
  • Providing expert advice on environmental best practices
  • Supporting business development activities
  • Contributing to the development of new consulting services
  • Mentoring junior team members
  • Fostering a collaborative work environment
