Front End Developer – eCommerce / Web Platforms / Digital Experience
Location: England, UK, Remote, Home-Based

We are working with a highly successful global organisation that is continuing to invest heavily in its digital technology landscape.
With a strong heritage and an ambitious digital roadmap, the business is building and enhancing a range of customer-facing platforms, from large-scale eCommerce solutions through to modern web applications and digital experiences.
As part of continued growth within their technology function, they are looking for a talented Front End Developer to join their Digital Development Team and help shape the future of their online products.
The Role
Reporting into the Engineering Lead, you will join a collaborative and forward-thinking Digital Team responsible for delivering high-quality, user-focused web experiences.
Working closely with developers, UX specialists, QA professionals, delivery teams and wider business stakeholders, you will play a key role in designing, developing and improving modern front-end applications.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain modern customer-facing web applications
- Build responsive, accessible and high-performing user interfaces
- Collaborate with UX, QA, backend developers and product teams to deliver exceptional digital experiences
- Write clean, maintainable and scalable front-end code
- Contribute to technical decisions and improvements across development practices
- Support continuous improvement across accessibility, performance and user experience
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Stay current with emerging technologies and modern development approaches

- Strong experience with JavaScript (ES6+) fundamentals
- Commercial experience developing modern web applications
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as React and Next.js (or similar)
- Experience with state management approaches such as Redux, Zustand or Context API
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS and modern styling techniques
- Experience building responsive and cross-browser compatible applications
- A strong understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and semantic HTML
- Experience with front-end testing frameworks such as Jest, Vitest or similar
- Experience using Git and modern version control practices
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams (Scrum/Kanban)
Desirable Experience
It would be advantageous if you have experience with:
- Large-scale eCommerce platforms
- Building highly transactional or customer-facing websites
- CSS preprocessors such as Sass
- Component-driven development approaches
- Front-end architecture and design systems
- Performance optimisation at scale
- Mentoring, supporting or reviewing the work of other developers
