Role Overview
You are joining one of the best long-short equities hedge funds in the industry at exactly the right moment.
The team is moving into a new area of business and you are at the centre of it. This is not a role where you inherit someone else's work and maintain it quietly. You are building new things, owning them, and making real decisions about how they take shape.
Day to day you are working directly with quant researchers and portfolio managers. These are sharp, technically minded people and they will rely on you. You translate complex ideas into clean, functional interfaces that genuinely matter to how the business operates. The scope is broad and the projects are exciting, not in a vague marketing sense, but in the sense that the work is genuinely novel and the people around you are serious about getting it right.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
