Frontend Developer – Vue.js / Nuxt.js – Hull / Hybrid

I’m working with a well-established UK business that is investing heavily in its digital offering and looking to add a Frontend focussed fullstack developer to its growing development team in Hull.

This is a frontend-focused position where you’ll be working primarily with Vue 3 and Nuxt 3, helping build and evolve a modern, headless eCommerce platform used by customers across the UK. The wider environment is API-first and microservices-based, with significant investment going into new digital products and tooling.

You’ll join an established Scrum team and work closely with backend developers, product and other areas of the business, taking ownership of customer-facing features and helping improve the overall performance and user experience of the platform.

What you’ll be working on

  • Building and developing customer-facing applications using Vue 3 and Nuxt 3
  • Creating reusable, maintainable frontend components
  • Working within a headless eCommerce architecture
  • Consuming RESTful APIs and working closely with Laravel/PHP backend services
  • Improving site performance, including Core Web Vitals
  • Delivering responsive, high-quality experiences across desktop and mobile
  • Writing clean, well-tested and maintainable code
  • Taking part in code reviews and contributing to engineering best practice
  • Working with Git, Bitbucket and Jira within an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Using modern AI-assisted development tools as part of the development workflow

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The current platform uses Vue 3 and Nuxt 3 on the frontend, Laravel/PHP and MySQL on the backend, with Google Cloud Platform, Docker and CI/CD supporting the wider environment.

What I’m looking for

You’ll ideally have strong commercial experience with:

  • Vue.js, ideally Vue 3
  • Nuxt.js, ideally Nuxt 3
  • JavaScript
  • HTML & CSS
  • Building responsive, customer-facing web applications
  • REST APIs
  • Git-based development workflows
  • Modern frontend development and testing practices

Experience working within eCommerce, headless architectures, microservices or performance-focused web applications would be particularly useful.

You don’t need to be a backend developer, but some exposure to PHP/Laravel or experience working closely with API/backend teams would definitely be beneficial.

The team is also very forward-thinking when it comes to AI. Tools such as Cursor and Claude are already being used as part of the day-to-day engineering workflow, so they’re particularly interested in developers who are comfortable embracing AI-assisted development while still taking ownership of the quality of what they ship.

Location

The role is based in Hull and offers hybrid working. There is flexibility around the working pattern for the right person, so if you’re within a sensible commuting distance of Hull but can’t commit to being in the office every day, it’s still worth having a conversation. The original brief targets around three office days per week but specifically allows flexibility.

If you’re a Vue Developer looking for the opportunity to work on a modern Vue/Nuxt platform, with plenty of new development and genuine investment behind the technology, drop me a message and I can talk you through the role and the team in more detail.
