Software Engineer (Frontend)
Location: Oxford – Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite
Salary: £44,000–£86,000 depending on experience
Bonus: 10% or 15% depending on seniority
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Frontend) to provide technical leadership for the frontend architecture of a next-generation data visualisation and analytics platform.
You will play a key role in delivering high-performance, data-rich user experiences that enable users to explore data, uncover insights, compare scenarios and interact with AI-driven features.
Working within a React-based micro-frontend architecture, you will build flexible and reusable interfaces using a shared Highcharts-based charting library, APIs and an established design system.
This is an excellent opportunity for a frontend engineer who enjoys working on complex, data-intensive applications and wants significant autonomy and ownership over a high-profile product area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the frontend architecture and implementation of a next-generation data visualisation and analytics platform.
- Develop and maintain reusable frontend components and interaction patterns, including chart layouts, filtering, comparison views and data-driven experiences.
- Build fast, scalable and highly responsive user interfaces, with a strong focus on perceived performance.
- Drive testing, quality and reliability across complex frontend functionality and data interactions.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Data, AI and UX teams to deliver high-quality user experiences.
- Work with and evolve an existing token-first design system, ensuring consistency across the platform.
- Lead features and product areas end-to-end, making pragmatic technical decisions and driving delivery.
- Adopt modern AI-assisted and agentic coding practices to accelerate development, refactoring and exploration while maintaining ownership of architecture, code quality and production outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
