Frontend Developer - React / TypeScript

Ncounter is supporting a technology consultancy looking for an experienced Frontend Developer to work on modern digital services across Central Government. You will join an established engineering team delivering secure, accessible applications used within complex public sector environments. This is a hands-on development role with genuine ownership across the frontend, working closely with backend engineers, architects and product teams to turn requirements into reliable, intuitive digital services.

The role:

  • Build and maintain modern applications using React and TypeScript, taking features from component through to service integration
  • Develop accessible, responsive interfaces, dashboards and interactive user journeys
  • Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs, authentication services and role-based access controls
  • Build polished prototypes to demonstrate new concepts and help shape requirements with stakeholders
  • Contribute to testing, code reviews, CI/CD and frontend engineering standards

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience with Entra ID, MSAL, Keycloak, React Router, Redux, Vite, Radix UI/shadcn, data visualisation, Docker or GitHub Actions would be beneficial. Exposure to AI-enabled products is also useful, but this is fundamentally a frontend software engineering position rather than an AI specialist role.

Candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance. This is a strong opportunity for a React Developer who wants to work on complex, high-profile digital transformation programmes where usability, accessibility and engineering quality genuinely matter. Contact Ncounter to discuss the position and wider programme.
