Frontend Developer

We're looking for a Frontend Developer for a central government department based in Exeter (hybrid) on an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £600 per day (Inside IR35, Umbrella).

Role Overview

This is a hybrid role with some attendance expected (1-2 days per week) at the office in Exeter.

Responsibilities

The successful Frontend Developer will:

  • Build responsive, accessible user interfaces
  • Work with internally developed APIs and search indexes
  • Operate in a mixed Azure and AWS environment
  • Collaborate across the full development lifecycle alongside design and product teams
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high quality
  • Maintain existing applications
  • Troubleshoot issues
  • Streamline deployment through CI/CD and automated testing

Requirements

You will need proven experience working with the following:

  • React, Next.js and TypeScript
  • HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Consuming internal or RESTful APIs
  • Elasticsearch and SQL-style databases
  • Git and cloud deployment (Azure and/or AWS)
