Frontend Developer
We're looking for a Frontend Developer for a central government department based in Exeter (hybrid) on an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £600 per day (Inside IR35, Umbrella).
Role Overview
This is a hybrid role with some attendance expected (1-2 days per week) at the office in Exeter.
Responsibilities
The successful Frontend Developer will:
- Build responsive, accessible user interfaces
- Work with internally developed APIs and search indexes
- Operate in a mixed Azure and AWS environment
- Collaborate across the full development lifecycle alongside design and product teams
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high quality
- Maintain existing applications
- Troubleshoot issues
- Streamline deployment through CI/CD and automated testing

Requirements
You will need proven experience working with the following:
- React, Next.js and TypeScript
- HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Consuming internal or RESTful APIs
- Elasticsearch and SQL-style databases
- Git and cloud deployment (Azure and/or AWS)

Experience with PyGeoAPI would be beneficial, as would familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
You'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain SC clearance.
