Frontend Development Internship

A British financial services firm is currently struggling with a complex internal interface that slows down their credit processing team. This Frontend Development Internship focuses on repairing the specific interface components of their core tools to remove operational drag. You will work on fixing data visualizations that have become inaccurate, correcting form logic that leads to stale data, and ensuring that the user interface correctly reflects the status of backend routing rules. This is not about building a flashy marketing site. It is about making sure a professional user can see the right information at the right time without fighting the software.

As this is a fully remote position, you will be expected to maintain high levels of written communication and document your progress clearly.

About Tech Pipeline

We fix the friction that slows companies down by focusing on the gap between software and actual work.

  • We address the seams where systems do not talk to each other, leading to manual errors.
  • We find the temporary workarounds that have become permanent and replace them with solid, maintainable code.
  • We prioritize clear documentation, named ownership, and plain English over abstract frameworks.
  • We stay through the cutover and the first month of live operation to ensure our fixes hold.
  • Our goal is to remove the daily drag so client teams can get back to their primary tasks.
  • We are a fully remote team that values technical competence and practical results.

What You Will Do

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Debug components in the client portal that are failing to render updated state correctly.
  • Review browser logs to identify why frontend validation is out of sync with updated backend SOPs.
  • Simplify cluttered dashboards that currently force staff into manual reconciliation of accounts.
  • Write clean, documented CSS and HTML to fix layout shifts in internal portals that occur during data loading.
  • Assist in updating frontend routing rules to match new business logic for the financial services project.
  • Help draft runbooks for the client internal IT team so they can maintain the fixes once we leave.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure the frontend reflects the truth of the underlying database.
  • Test the interface across different environments to ensure that a fix in one area does not break a workflow elsewhere.

What You Bring

  • Basic proficiency in HTML, CSS, and at least one modern JavaScript framework like React or Vue.
  • A curiosity about how web applications break and a willingness to look at the logs to find the root cause.
  • The ability to explain a technical issue in plain English without using jargon or fluff.
  • Comfort working in a fully remote environment where written updates are the primary way we coordinate.
  • Attention to detail, especially when checking that form fields match the requirements of the database schema.
  • A focus on utility and function, understanding that internal tools need to be fast and accurate more than they need to be pretty.
  • Willingness to learn how financial service workflows, such as loan approvals and risk assessments, operate on the ground.
  • Basic understanding of how to use Git for version control within a small team.

How We Work

Tech Pipeline operates on a model of efficiency and clarity. We do not believe in permanent retainers or endless discovery phases that result in nothing but slide decks. We document every decision log and update every SOP as we go, ensuring the client is never left in the dark. Our work is finished when the client team can run the system reliably without our help. During this internship, you will spend your week contributing to these tangible outcomes, providing weekly written updates, and ensuring that every line of code you write helps clear the operational drag for the client. We value the ability to identify a problem, propose a specific fix, and see it through to completion.
