Frontend Engineer Intern
Tech Pipeline is looking for a Frontend Engineer Intern to assist with a specific project for our partner, which is a London-based financial institution. In this role, you will help address the operational drag that occurs when internal dashboards do not match the reality of the underlying data. You will spend your time fixing the frontend seams where users have to rely on workarounds because a button does not work or a status indicator is stale. This is a full-time, fully remote position that focuses on making internal tools usable so the partner's team can stop doing manual reconciliation across spreadsheets.

What You Will Do
- Update internal dashboard interfaces using React and JavaScript to reflect real-time data from financial logs.
- Identify and fix broken UI elements that lead to data entry errors or missed steps in the approval chain.
- Review browser console logs and network traces to find why specific routing rules are failing in the browser.
- Rewrite frontend validation logic to match updated SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Collaborate with the team to build and maintain runbooks for the components you update.
- Clean up stale data displays that cause confusion during the monthly financial close process.
- Participate in the cutover phase by monitoring UI stability as new rules go live.
- Document every change in the decision log so the client understands why a specific fix was implemented.
What You Bring
- Basic proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with some exposure to React or a similar framework through projects or studies.
- A logical approach to troubleshooting, focusing on why a component breaks rather than just trying to hide the error.
- The ability to read a technical requirement and translate it into a simple, functional user interface.
- Strong writing skills, specifically for creating clear documentation and step-by-step instructions.
- An interest in the mechanics of financial systems and how data moves through a large organization.
- The discipline to work effectively in a fully remote environment, managing your own tasks and timelines.
- A preference for finished projects and stable systems over endless maintenance cycles.
