🚀 Frontend Engineer II | Contract | Manchester

I’m recruiting a Frontend Engineer to join an established engineering team working on a merchandising recommendation system migration. The team is preparing to run experiments and move customer-facing placements onto a new system, so you’ll have the chance to deliver features that reach production quickly.

đź’° Rate: ÂŁ75 per hour via umbrella company
🕒 Hours: 40 per week, with flexible working around core hours of 10 am–4 pm

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and improve modern web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and React or Vue.js.
  • Take features from design and technical planning through to release.
  • Work with product, design, backend engineering and QA teams on the migration.
  • Write well-tested code, review changes and resolve production issues.
  • Help improve frontend performance, monitoring and deployment processes.

What you’ll bring

  • At least 3 years of professional frontend engineering experience.
  • Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and React or Vue.js skills.
  • Experience with large existing codebases, APIs, unit testing and CI/CD.
  • Hands-on experience supporting production applications, including observability tools, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • The ability to get up to speed quickly, work independently and communicate delivery risks early.
  • Confident, practical use of Claude and Codex in your engineering workflow.
  • Experience with Node.js, GraphQL, cloud platforms, A/B testing or Core Web Vitals would be a bonus.
