Frontend Engineering Team Lead - MarTech
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Frontend Engineering Team Lead - MarTech based in United Kingdom.
As Frontend Engineering Team Lead - MarTech, you will lead a talented frontend engineering team responsible for building and evolving high-performance digital experiences within a large-scale marketing technology environment. Combining technical leadership with hands-on development, you will drive architectural decisions, guide major platform migrations, and ensure the delivery of scalable, high-quality applications. Working closely with product managers, backend engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will champion engineering excellence while mentoring and growing your team. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to shape technical strategy, optimize user experience for high-traffic platforms, and make a lasting impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Accountabilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of frontend engineers, fostering technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous professional development.
- Define and drive frontend architecture, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and high-performing software solutions.
- Lead the execution of major technical initiatives, including frontend framework migrations and server-side rendering implementations.
- Contribute hands-on to software development through coding, code reviews, technical design, and architectural guidance.
- Optimize website performance by improving loading speed, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, and overall user experience.
- Manage team planning, work allocation, performance reviews, career development discussions, and regular one-to-one meetings.
- Promote engineering best practices, modern development workflows, testing strategies, and continuous improvement across the team.
- Collaborate closely with product, backend, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, high-quality features aligned with business goals.

Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on frontend development.
- Previous experience leading engineering teams, including people management, mentoring, performance evaluation, and workload planning.
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, modern CSS, frontend build tools, and version control systems.
- Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks, state management solutions, and component-based application architecture.
- Proven expertise leading large-scale frontend migrations, including server-side rendering and modern web framework implementations.
- Solid background in web performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, and delivering high-performance user experiences.
- Experience working on large-scale, high-traffic digital platforms in industries such as MarTech, e-commerce, advertising technology, media, or similar environments.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools and exposure to backend technologies, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills in distributed engineering teams.
