Magento Open Source Front-End Developer

Location: Lancashire / Hybrid

Salary: £35,000

Working Pattern: Hybrid - ideally 3 days per week on-site, with flexibility for the right candidate

We are working with a fast-growing, high-volume e-commerce business looking to appoint a Magento Open Source Front-End Developer to join its established in-house development team.

This is an opportunity to work within a complex e-commerce environment supporting a large product portfolio of approximately 15,000 SKUs across multiple B2C and B2B platforms. The business is investing significantly across its digital estate, with a major focus on improving the performance, responsiveness and overall customer experience of its Magento storefronts.

The immediate focus will be on the continued development of its Magento Open Source environment, including the implementation and development of Hyvä, alongside a wider Magento version upgrade.

The Role

Working as part of an established in-house development team, you will help develop and improve high-volume Magento websites, with a particular focus on the B2C customer experience.

The work is varied and fast-paced, ranging from new website and brand launches through to platform enhancements, bug fixes, releases and larger transformation projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience with Alpine.js and modern JavaScript would be beneficial but is not essential. Exposure to large product catalogues, manufacturing, warehousing, retail or other complex e-commerce environments would also be advantageous. Experience working within regulated consumer sectors would be particularly relevant.

The Environment

This is not a purely BAU website maintenance role. The wider technology function is currently delivering a significant programme of change across e-commerce, APIs, data, warehousing and retail technology.

You'll join an established development team and have exposure to a broad range of projects while playing a key role in the continued evolution of the organisation's Magento platform.

The preference is for someone able to work on-site in Lancashire around three days per week. However, there is flexibility around the hybrid arrangement for candidates with particularly strong Magento Open Source and Hyvä experience.

If you're a Magento Front-End Developer looking for an opportunity to work on a complex, high-volume e-commerce platform, we'd be keen to hear from you.
