The Opportunity

The UK GCR business is expected to undergo significant change in the coming years due to technology improvements and competitor disruption. The business needs to develop and adopt improved technology across all areas which will lead to significant change in how the business operates both externally (go-to-market strategy) and internally (process change).

At the same time, the mix of work in the GCR business is changing as a result of changes in market demand for the different services we offer. As well as changes to EY’s audit portfolio and delivery model / pricing (as tax audit revenues are a significant part of GCR’s overall revenue).

This role offers the opportunity to help define the future operating model for GCR and lead on executing the change programme to deliver that future model, as well as overseeing BAU operational elements of the GCR team throughout that time.

The high-level direction of the transformation has been agreed (known as Project Rocket), and some change initiatives are underway.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Define the future market strategy and expected revenue streams for GCR
  • Define the required operating model (people, process and technology) to best deliver against the market strategy.
  • Redefine metrics and KPIs for GCR and the GCR team to incentivize correct behaviours
  • Plan onshore and offshore FTE to align with transformation objectives
  • Represent GCR with senior leadership to gain their support for the transformation plan.
  • Establish transformation programme with agreed priorities and set milestones
  • Ensure GCR transformation plans align with UKFS and Super Region strategy
  • Liaise with Super Region GCR teams to leverage ongoing SR transformation work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
