Our client

We are partnering with a leading global asset manager seeking a talented Regulatory Lawyer to join its high performing Legal team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with strong financial services regulatory experience to work closely with the business, advising on the evolving regulatory landscape impacting investment management activities across the UK and Europe.

The Role

You will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal and regulatory advice across a broad range of matters, including:

  • Supporting product development initiatives and providing regulatory guidance on new investment strategies and distribution channels.
  • Advising on UK and EU regulatory frameworks affecting asset management businesses, including FCA rules, MiFID, AIFMD and UCITS.
  • Interpreting and implementing regulatory developments and assessing their impact on the business.
  • Advising stakeholders across portfolio management, distribution, operations, risk and compliance functions.
  • Reviewing and negotiating a range of client, distribution and service provider agreements from a regulatory perspective.
  • Working closely with Compliance on regulatory change projects, governance matters and interactions with regulators.
  • Providing strategic advice to senior management on regulatory risks and opportunities.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate is likely to possess:

  • Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction.
  • Proven post-qualification experience gained within a leading law firm and/or financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and European financial services regulation affecting asset managers.
  • Experience advising on FCA regulated activities and investment management products.
  • Excellent technical skills combined with a pragmatic and commercial approach.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence decision-making across the business.
  • A proactive mindset and the confidence to operate in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment.
