Role: FSS Enablement Lead (S4/Hana Transformation)

Contract

6 months (Inside IR35)

Rate

£800-£1000 (per day)

Location

London/Spalding (the role benefits from remote working with expectation to travel to different sites when required)

The FSS Transformation Enablement Lead

The FSS Transformation Enablement Lead will act as the critical bridge between the S/4HANA transformation programme and Finance Shared Services (FSS), ensuring that the function is operationally ready to successfully adopt and sustain the new ways of working enabled by the transformation.

What you'll be doing:

  • Act as the key interface between the S/4HANA programme and Finance Shared Services, ensuring FSS is ready to adopt and sustain the transformation
  • Own and drive the closure of FSS change impacts, ensuring actions have clear ownership, plans and outcomes
  • Translate programme changes into practical implications for FSS processes, roles, systems and ways of working
  • Identify and proactively address readiness gaps, dependencies and risks ahead of deployment
  • Provide FSS leadership and the programme team with a clear view of readiness, issues and areas requiring intervention
  • Work with FSS leadership and teams to assess and redesign ways of working enabled by the new S/4HANA environment
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve end-to-end finance processes and service delivery
  • Challenge existing processes and behaviours where these are not aligned to the future operating model
  • Drive practical continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable operational benefits
  • Ensure new processes and ways of working are embedded and sustained beyond go-live
  • Drive the completion of desk top procedures to improve rigour in FSS
  • Lead the FSS focus on key operational enablers within the transformation, with particular emphasis on Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Work with technology and process teams to maximise the value of S/4HANA, MDM and tools such as ServiceNow
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, workflow, service management and operational visibility
  • Ensure FSS teams understand and are equipped to operate effectively within the new technology and process landscape
  • Build strong relationships across FSS, the S/4HANA programme, and wider business stakeholders
  • Act as a trusted partner to FSS leadership, providing insight, challenge and practical support to drive transformation
  • Facilitate collaboration between project and operational teams to resolve issues and remove barriers to adoption
  • Establish a culture of ownership and continuous improvement within FSS
  • Track and communicate progress, benefits and key outcomes, ensuring transformation activity translates into tangible improvements for FSS

What you'll need:

  • Significant experience working within, or closely supporting, a Finance Shared Services (FSS) or Global Business Services (GBS) environment
  • Experience of supporting or leading business transformation, operational readiness or process improvement initiatives
  • Experience working on SAP-enabled transformation programmes, ideally including S/4HANA
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes and the operational environment in which Finance Shared Services teams operate
  • Experience of identifying, managing and driving the closure of business and operational change impacts
  • Demonstrable experience of process improvement, standardisation and continuous improvement within an operational environment
  • Experience of working across the interface between a transformation programme and business operations
  • Experience of improving ways of working, including processes, roles, governance, controls and service delivery
  • Experience of Master Data Management (MDM), including an understanding of the importance of data ownership, governance, quality and operational processes
  • Experience of service management, workflow or case management processes and tools, ideally including ServiceNow
  • Experience of working with senior operational stakeholders and influencing teams to adopt new ways of working
