Role Description

The FSSC Accountant role is a full-time hybrid position based in London, with some flexibility for working from home. The role involves managing and processing financial transactions within the Financial Shared Service Centre (FSSC), including general ledger postings, reconciliations, month-end and year-end close activities, and preparation of standard financial reports. The FSSC Accountant will support budgeting and forecasting processes, assist with audit requirements, and help ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards.

The role also requires effective communication across finance teams and stakeholders to maintain accurate and timely financial information.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and familiarity with month-end and year-end procedures.
  • Proficiency with finance and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar), and advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, prepare accurate reports, and support budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a shared service environment and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Organized and detail-focused approach, with strong time management, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to process improvement.
  • Relevant professional qualification or progress toward one (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) and prior experience in a finance or shared service centre role.
  • Understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements, and best practices in financial governance.
