Operations Director | Six-month fixed-term contract
Confidential appointment | Nottinghamshire | Salary guide: £90,000–£100,000 pro rata
A growing international connectivity manufacturer needs an Operations Director to bring control and momentum to its two UK facilities. Delivery performance, overdue orders, and customer escalations need urgent attention. This is a hands-on leadership appointment for someone who can identify the causes, align the teams, and deliver measurable improvement within six months.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead manufacturing operations, supply chain and planning, strategic sourcing, and continuous improvement.
- Your immediate focus will be to stabilise delivery, improve material availability, and establish clear priorities across both sites.
- Strengthen the daily performance routines and leadership accountability needed to sustain that progress.
- Get close to the operation: understanding where orders are being delayed, resolving planning and supply constraints, improving coordination between functions, and giving customer-facing teams reliable commitments.
- Bring people with you, particularly where leadership confidence and morale require attention.

Requirements
- Led a manufacturing operation through a period of poor delivery performance or significant operational change.
- Held responsibility across production, planning, and supply chain, with a sound understanding of sourcing and supplier performance.
- Worked across more than one site and built effective relationships with commercial, quality, and finance teams.
- Delivered results through visible leadership, clear measures, and practical problem-solving.

Experience in electronic components, connectors, or another technically demanding manufacturing environment would be helpful, but your record of improving operational performance and developing leaders will matter most.
